Ben's comment as of 12/30/15: With 16 deer in total for this years contest:
It is Wednesday Dec 30th and the year is almost over. The last 10 days of bow season not one deer came into the shop. The heat had something to do with it, but mainly not many people were hunting. I hope and pray that the DEC has learned a lesson from there 2015 deer season along Lake Ontario and will reconsider their plans for 2016. The higher temperatures this season affected the deer as much as the hunters this season. I hate to be negative on my Web-Site, but this season was un-believable. Things were getting better with bucks chasing does for about 12 days, but that didn't last long and once it shut down it was back to nocturnal. The contest had a poor beginning, a little spirt in the middle and a poor ending. Something NEW STARTING NEXT YEAR we will have a Crossbow Division in our deer contest. One of my customers who retired last year was in this week. He said, "I  have hunted 34 days and have seen 11 deer, it's terrible. I had a beautiful 11 point opening day and couldn't shoot it". Hunting right now is hot and heavy, with not a lot of results. Last year at this point in time we had 25 deer in, 13 this year. Well on opening day we had a Doe brought in. The next day a non-contest Doe brought in. Since then very slow. Since the new regulations came out I have only had one customer with positive thoughts about the changes. All we are hearing about is the bucks I couldn't shoot, etc. I am kind of stretching things on the positive side. That person said, because everyone is either not bowhunting until the 16th of October, or going to the southern tier I won't have a lot of pressure where I hunt. Top deer in the contest as of 11/4/15 - 196 lb buck - 110 7/8" rack & a 91 lb doe.

NOTICE YOUNG ADULTS:  There are 10 Young Adults in the contest AND THE OTHER 9 better get their butts going or there is going to be a two-peat. Three deer in so far for Brandon Ward. Come on you young adult bowhunters! Brandon gets back from Montana Sunday the 15th. That gives him five days to kill a buck. I would bet he does it.

If your interested, here are my political views read on. If your not interested,
like I say below, you deserve what you get and have, and don't read them.

47% of the people in this country do not pay taxes and probably voted for
Obama, because life works for them just fine. Of the 53% majority left, only
65% of them vote because the other 35% of them don't vote because politics
has them upset for one reason or another. YOU DO THE MATH! We all know
the definition of insanity is not changing anything and expecting a different
result. The average family income is down OVER $4800.00 from two years ago.
If that doesn't get your attention, then you deserve what you get. What
matters, the only thing that matters is we need a change. Who knows what,
who did what, who said what, who promised what, doesn't matter, WE NEED
A CHANGE, and if we don't get it, well it's not like me to say, but,
NOT  BE  AS  GOOD  IN  2015  !
Four days before the election I had a typical
non-voter in the shop and I kind of got in his face. He said he never voted
unless the person he wanted was running. I said who do you want? He said
Ron Paul, but he's so pissed off at politics in general he is not going to go
write in Ron Paul's name. I don't get it. He sure had a whole bunch of opinions
for a person that doesn't vote.

(Get your butt out and vote - some of my relatives
and yours gave there lives for your right to vote - cherish it.)

They say on the internet, I'm opinionated. Yes I am. I
try real hard to make this a better country and run my
business correctly. Life must suck to be a "Post turtle".

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher,
who's hand was caught in the gate while working cattle,
the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.
Eventually the topic got around to Obama being our president.
The old rancher said, 'Well, Ya know, Obama is a "Post Turtle''.
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a
'post turtle' was. The old rancher said, 'When you're driving
down a country road and you come across a fence post with a
turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.

The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so
he continued to explain. 'You know he didn't get up there by
himself, he doesn't belong up there, and he doesn't know what
to do while he's up there, and you just wonder what kind of
dumb ass put him up there to begin with'.

It is not a NEW WORLD now, but it is a world where BAIL OUTS should
have a country that we need to protect and cherish, The Constitution
of the United States and our Bill of Rights. OUR FREEDOMS.

I'll keep my country just the way it was, my freedoms the way they were
when I was growing up, and you can keep all the CHANGE in a dark and
unsanitary place.
There is no freedom without capitalism and there is no

capitalism without freedom. I'm concerned about Small
Business. I'm concerned about my kids future. I'm really
concerned about my three grandchildren. And most of
all, I'm concerned about are countries future, because of
the current leadership, if you can call it that.
