CREEKWOOD ARCHERY'S SPECIAL YOUTH 420 PRO/AM
APRIL 16,2016

On March 11th & 12th we had our 7th Annual 420 Pro/Am with almost 200 shooters at Pinnacle Sports Campus, only we were not able to have a 10 yard line for Cubs, so any youth had to shoot 20 yards. This was the first year in 7 that we were not able to accommodate the youth in archery as we wanted to and have in the past, so "The Special Youth 420 Pro/Am" was born, and what a success it was. I don't remember so many positive comments ever, an actual standing ovation. Marcia and I and our staff really appreciate all the kind words. The non-Creekwood kids from Points To The Cross and Heritage Archery were an absolute pleasure to have at our event. I'm sure all the kids from Heritage gained weight over the weekend, because we fed em here and then at 4:00pm they had a big League Party at there home club. I called Mike Price to convey what a wonderful bunch of shooters represented Heritage at the event. They are trained well, shot well and behaved well. I know the amount of work his crew put in, because Marcia & I did the same thing a few years back when we were younger.
Below are some pictures and the results of the 2016 Special Youth 420 Pro/Am Tournament:

The banner was out, the range set up, just waiting for the kids, parents, aunts & uncles and of course the grandparents to come.

  And as you can see,

they did come in force.
There were two rounds of practice and then the shooting began to the sound of a cow bell, starting the 4 minute clock .

 Bottom line up first,

Then Top line,

  and so on until 60,

    arrows were shot.

After the top and bottom lines shot, the scoring began.

Lots of conversations took place. What a great group of young people.

Then came the awards, followed by Pizza from M & T Bank. Thank you Dan for the banks support for the last seven years.
All three Branch Managers have been very supportave of our business for 21 years.

                                                                                                    And finally some group pictures.
It was a lot of work, but we were sad when it was over. Stay tuned for The 8th Annual 420 Pro/Am on YOUR TRIP to "Shoot Em' In The MIDDLE".

has helped me a lot with my corn-puter, among other things. Thanks Aaron!

All the shooting sports are an absolute HOOT. Shooting sports are 97% mental which is where the real challenge comes from. Participation and competition is where you test your mental control and focus. You are really competing against yourself. The result is you learn how to think for yourself, build confidence, trust and create common sense, which isn't very common these days.
Archery is a personal sport where your results are only accredited to your own personal behavior. If your team (YOU) does well LIFE IS GOOD !, and if your team does bad you have to go look in the mirror. You can make archery just fun, or you can make archery an obsession, an incurable sickness. Archery is not as hard as golf because we are allowed to look at our target, but archery is harder on our egos than golf because when we miss a shot it is missed. We don't have three or four more tries to make par.

COME ON DOWN AND ENJOY THE FUN. PUT SOME CHALLENGE IN YOUR LIFE AND TEST YOUR METAL, LIKE THESE FINE KIDS DID.

On 4/16/16, LIFE WAS REALLY GOOD !
