I think, you need to read this. This is a necessary read if you are concerned about the direction our country and society is headed. Read it and then read it again. Think about it and then read it again. This is a society thing, that knowing history might help. I say, might.
            In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior: “A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship.”
            “The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years, During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

            1.) From bondage to spiritual faith; - 2.) From spiritual faith to great courage; - 3.) From great courage to liberty;

            4.) From liberty to abundance; – 5.) From abundance to complacency; - 6.) From complacency to apathy;

            7.) From apathy to dependence; - 8.) From dependence to bondage.”

            It doesn’t hurt to read those 8 steps several times.

            Some interesting facts per Professor Olson of Hamline University of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 2012 concerning a past presidential election; Number of States won by: Obama 19: Romney:29; - Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 Romney: 2,427,000 – Population of counties won by Obama: 127 million p Romney: 143 million – Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 Romney: 2.1
            “In aggregate, the map of territory Romney won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country. The Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income tenements and living off various forms of government welfare. (Dependence)
             Professor Olson believed in 2012 the United States was some ware between the “complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some 40% of the nations population already having reached the “governmental dependency” phase. And this was 12 years ago.
             If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to 20 million (12 years ago) criminal invaders called illegals – and they vote – then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years. THIS WAS TWELVE YEARS AGO !
            Ron Coyle, my best friend sent me this, yes, 12 years ago. Neither of these historians above, offered any solutions to the problem we are facing, but if you read this whole thing again, I think you can figure it out. It's a society thing. Big and bigger government is NOT THE ANSWER. Apathy is the greatest danger to our population’s freedom. If we loose our freedom here, there is no other place to go. To know history is very important. That’s why they are not teaching REAL American history any more. So sit down, read this whole thing again and make your decisions. Your vote will not change society, but you will have expressed your opinion.
            In my opinion, both the Republican’s & Democrat’s want bigger government and more power, which feeds the dependency stage, so pick wisely when you cast your vote. I think the Democrat's are on a rocket ship heading for big government, while the Republican's are in a bus heading for big government. If your not registered to vote you are part of the problem. That’s just the way the politicians want it. If they tick you off, so you don’t vote, they don’t have to worry about you and your non-vote.
            I love my country as it was, I remember when criminals had consequences, I remember when kids couldn't wait to get a job, or their drivers license. I remember when our borders were borders and not sieves, I remember when kids could be kids and develop some common sense on there own, without their helicopter parents. I remember, and this breaks my heart  when Ithaca, NY was a great place to raise a family, not the Berkley of the East as it is now. I absolutely love my family as it is, and at the same time, know without a doubt it would be better, growing up in the old days. Maybe it's a generation gap for me at 83, or maybe not. I don't even want to mention what NYS has become, where I have lived for 81 years. I realize that 99% of the people looking at my web site are like me, and I'm preaching to the choir, but I'm just trying to do my part, and I think maybe, just maybe it could make a little difference. (Maybe it's like peeing on the ocean and trying to convince people the tides will be higher tonight.)                                                                                Life Is GOOD !
